Skoda Rapid door locking issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Skoda Rapid experienced a door locking issue where the doors wouldn't lock or unlock using the key fob or central locking button. The problem was suspected to be a faulty door contact signal or a bad connection. It was suggested to check the door switch, which is part of the door latch mechanism and affects the locking system. The issue was resolved by replacing the wiring harness, restoring the locking functionality.

When you say 'door switch', do you mean the actual button you press to wind the windows down, or is it something else? And where exactly is it located? Sorry for the questions, I'm not super car savvy.

No worries, it's not the window button. The door switch is what tells the car if the door is open or closed. It affects the contact signal. It's usually built into the door latch mechanism itself inside the door. So, if that's faulty, it messes with the automatic locks and the car alarm. Could be the wiring harness too, like I said, better get it checked at a workshop.

Took it to the shop today. You were right, the door switch was the culprit. They replaced the wiring harness and the locks are working again. Cost me 95€, which is annoying, but at least it's sorted. Thanks for the help.

Strange issue. I had something similar with my Rapid. The car alarm would randomly go off, and sometimes the doors wouldn't lock properly with the remote. Check your door switch - it might be sending a bad signal. It's worth a look before you start tearing the car apart.
