Skoda Rapid starting issues
Summary of the thread
A Skoda Rapid owner experienced starting issues, suspecting an interruption in the Terminal 30 continuous power supply, possibly due to a heavily discharged or defective battery. Suggestions included checking the battery, fuses related to the power supply, and inspecting for corrosion on battery terminals or wiring harness. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing the battery, which restored the car's starting functionality.

Thanks for the quick reply Fuses I can handle, but ECU and wiring harness sounds a bit scary Where would I find the fuses related to the power supply And how can I check the wiring harness for corrosion

Terminal 30 issues can be tricky, it does sound like the battery But if the battery is new and good, then an Electrical Fault like a Short Circuit is likely Intermittent issues are often harder to diagnose Seriously, it might be worth getting a professional to take a look before you start pulling apart the wiring harness They have tools to properly diagnose Power Supply problems It could save you time and money

That sounds frustrating Terminal 30 is the constant power supply from your battery and if that's interrupted, especially on a 2014 car, it can cause problems A discharged or defective battery is a good place to start Have you checked the fuses related to the power supply or the Engine Control Unit ECU A blown fuse could cause that intermittent issue Also, any signs of corrosion on the battery terminals or the wiring harness
