Skoda Rapid sun blind issue
Summary of the thread
The sun blind in a 2005 Skoda Rapid is stuck and not functioning properly, with an error stored in the car's memory. The issue is suspected to be a defective motor. It is suggested to use an OBD2 scanner to confirm the error code related to the sun blind motor. If confirmed, replacing the motor or the entire sun blind unit at a workshop is recommended.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I did check the error memory, and it shows an error related to the sun blind motor. You mentioned an OBD2 scanner, what does that mean?

You are welcome. An OBD2 scanner is a diagnostic tool used to read error codes from your car's computer. If the error code points to the sun blind motor, it's highly likely that's the issue. Given the symptoms and the error code, I would suggest visiting a workshop to have the motor replaced or the entire sun blind unit. It seems like a definitive diagnosis.

Thanks for the input! It sounds like it is indeed the motor. I got a quote from a local garage for 330€ to replace the whole sun blind unit, including labor. I think I'll go ahead with that.

Hello. I had a similar issue with the sun blind on my Rapid. The sun visor wouldn't retract properly. It could be a faulty motor, as you suspect. Have you checked the error memory using an OBD2 scanner? Did it show any specific codes related to the sun blind or its motor?
