Skoda Rapid Sunroof Initialization Problem

My 2003 Skoda Rapid with a gasoline engine reports the sunroof as 'not initialized'. The sunblind is stuck and the convertible top is inoperable; the sunblind won't retract. I presume a coding change is the root cause. Seeking guidance on a sunroof reset procedure.

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my Rapid. The sunblind got stuck, and the sunroof wouldn't budge. By coding, do you mean someone messed with the car's computer settings using something like VCDS? It can definitely cause issues with the sunroof control. When you say 'not initialized', does the diagnostic tool specifically throw an error code related to sunroof calibration?

VCDS was used. The error code pointed to the sunroof control needing initialization, yes. Calibration makes sense. Did you manage a sunroof reset yourself, or did you need specific tools? Trying to understand the scope before diving in.

Yeah, similar symptoms. I attempted a sunroof calibration myself after seeing the error, but no luck. I could read the values, but the sunroof control just wouldn't respond. Ultimately, I took it to a workshop. They have the proper tools and software to perform a complete automobile sunroof reset and properly configure the vehicle sunroof. Saved me a lot of headache in the end.

Local shop reinitialized the sunroof control module. It seems the coding change corrupted the settings. Cost 75€. Thanks for the input.
