Skoda Rapid Tailgate Problem

I'm getting quite frustrated with my 2010 Skoda Rapid diesel. The tailgate doesn't open completely. There's an error stored regarding the tailgate hall sensor. I suspect a faulty cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my Rapid. Check the wiring and the connector for the tailgate motor hall sensor. It is a common issue for the electrical sensor to fail due to a defective cable.

Where exactly is the hall sensor located? Is it easy to access and check the cable and plug connection myself?

Yes, it's a known problem for the hall sensor to cause issues with the tailgate motor. It's located near the tailgate latch mechanism. If you're not comfortable with electrical diagnostics, I would recommend taking it to a workshop to avoid further damaging the electrical system. They can easily diagnose the sensor fault.

I went to the workshop and it was the hall sensor. They replaced it for 95€ and now the tailgate opens smoothly. I'm so relieved!
