Skoda Rapid transport mode issue

Alright, I'm scratching my head here. My 2018 Skoda Rapid diesel is showing a transport mode active message, and it's causing all sorts of problems. The navigation system is completely dead, and there seem to be some general electrical malfunctions going on. I'm assuming it shouldn't be in transport mode since it's hardly new. I've checked the fuses, but everything seems fine there. Any ideas what could be causing this? I assume, since it's a new car, that the repair cost will be 0€

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Skoda Rapid diesel was experiencing issues with a "transport mode active" message, leading to a dead navigation system and electrical malfunctions. Transport mode is typically used during shipping to limit functions and prevent battery drain, and it seemed the car's configuration wasn't properly finalized. The suggested solution was to visit a Skoda workshop to reset the transport mode using specialized diagnostic equipment, which resolved the issue quickly.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

That sounds like a weird one. I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia, not exactly the same, but the navigation went dead and I was getting some odd electrical glitches. Does the engine start normally? It could be something to do with the immobilizer or car electronics in general. Transport mode is basically a setting that limits some car functions, usually activated at the factory for when the car is being shipped to prevent battery drain. It might be that the car configuration hasn't been properly finalized.

Thanks for the info Octavia, good to know it might be similar. Engine start is fine, no problem there. The immobilizer seems okay too, no warning lights or anything. But you mentioned car configuration what exactly does that involve? Is it something simple, or am I looking at a trip to the dealer?

Yeah, sounds very similar to what I experienced. Car configuration refers to setting up the car's computer with all the correct parameters. Since the engine start is normal, it's probably not the immobilizer itself, but rather a software glitch linked to transport mode. Honestly, clearing transport mode requires specialized diagnostic equipment. You're probably best off taking it to a Skoda workshop to have them reset it. They'll connect it to their system and disable transport mode. Should be a quick job.

You were spot on Took the Rapid to the dealer and it was indeed stuck in transport mode. They cleared it with their diagnostic tools quickly and everything is working perfectly now. I really appreciate your help
