Skoda Rapid Windshield Fogging Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Skoda Rapid is experiencing excessive windshield fogging, with low heating output and an error related to the defrost air distribution flap. The problem is suspected to be within the air distribution system, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. The solution involved fixing a faulty connection on the defrost flap motor, resolving the fogging issue.

I don't have the exact error code available right now. But where is the fuse for the HVAC unit located? And is it easy to check without special tools?

The fuse box location varies, but it's usually under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. Consult your owner's manual for the exact location and fuse diagram. Visual inspection should suffice – if the wire inside the fuse is broken, it's blown. Given the stored error points toward a faulty defrost flap, it is most likely a problem with the flap motor or its wiring. If you are not comfortable with electrical diagnostics, I recommend taking it to a workshop. Spending 95€ to fix a known electrical problem seems reasonable.

Took it to the shop, and it was indeed a faulty connection on the defrost flap motor as suspected. 95€ later and the windshield fogging issue is gone. Thanks for the insight.

I have a similar Skoda Rapid, though I haven't experienced precisely this issue. However, I did have problems with the air distribution not directing air properly. When you say 'error stored in the error memory', can you specify the exact error code? Knowing that could point us to a more specific area. Also, have you checked the fuse for the HVAC unit? A blown fuse can cause all sorts of weird issues with the climate control.
