Skoda Roomster Cruise Control Problem

I'm experiencing an issue with the cruise control on my 2008 Skoda Roomster with a gasoline engine. The car has 86362 km on the clock. The cruise control simply stopped working. The only symptom is that the cruise control does not engage at all, and there's an error stored in the error memory. From what I've read, a likely cause could be a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Perhaps related to the steering wheel controls?

I have a Skoda Octavia and I experienced a similar cruise control problem some time ago. The symptoms you describe are familiar. Did you check the brake light switch? A faulty brake light switch can often disable the cruise control system as a safety measure. Also, are there any issues with the throttle position sensor or the speed sensor that you are aware of?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the brake light switch specifically. How would I check that, and could a faulty pedal switch also cause this? Also, were there any specific error codes you recall when you had the issue?

Yes, a faulty pedal switch could definitely cause this issue, as the system is designed to disengage cruise control upon activation of either the brake or clutch pedal if you have a manual transmission. Regarding the error codes, I do not recall the exact codes. I would advise you to take it to a workshop. They should be able to diagnose the issue quickly and accurately using diagnostic tools. In my case it was not easy to find the problem myself, so I took it to the workshop as well.

I wanted to let you know about the cruise control issue with my Roomster. It was indeed a defective cable or plug connection. The final repair cost was 95€. Thanks again for your help!
