So your Roomster had the exact same symptoms? Did the check engine light come on intermittently at first, then stay on permanently? Was it difficult to diagnose, or did the garage immediately suspect the fuel volume regulator? Any other car sensors that gave you trouble around the same time?

Yes, the check engine light behavior was exactly as you described. It started intermittently, then became constant. Initially, the garage suspected a few things, but the error codes pointed towards fuel pressure issues. After some diagnostics, they pinpointed the fuel volume regulator being the culprit. It's definitely worth getting it checked out by a workshop, as a defective high pressure pump can cause further damage if left unaddressed.

Took the Roomster to the local garage, and you were spot on. They confirmed it was the fuel volume regulator as part of the high-pressure pump. The automotive repair was indeed pricey, ended up costing 1510€! But at least it's running smoothly now. Thanks again for your help.

The check engine light and stalling definitely point towards fuel delivery issues. Given the mileage, a failing fuel volume regulator is plausible. Have you checked the car sensors for error codes? I had a similar experience with my Roomster – engine misfire, rough idling, and reduced power. It turned out to be the fuel volume regulator as well. It's often linked to a defective high pressure pump.
