Skoda Roomster electric seat problem

I am experiencing an issue with the electric passenger seat in my 2015 Skoda Roomster with a diesel engine. An error is stored in the error memory, and seat adjustment is not possible. I suspect that a heavily discharged or defective battery may be the cause. Has anyone encountered a similar problem with their car seats before?

Summary of the thread

The electric passenger seat in a 2015 Skoda Roomster was not functioning, with an error stored in the memory. The suspected cause was a heavily discharged or defective battery. After investigation, it was confirmed that the battery was indeed the issue, leading to the error and seat adjustment problem. Replacing the battery resolved the issue, and the error memory was cleared.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds like you've got a similar gremlin to what I had with my Skoda Octavia. Do you get any warning lights on the dash, or just the error code when you scan it? Also, have you checked the seat wiring under the seat itself? Sometimes those connectors can get loose or corroded. It's like a dodgy Christmas tree light, one loose bulb and the whole string goes out!

The error code is the only indication. I haven't noticed any warning lights. Where exactly should I be looking for these seat wiring connectors? Is there a specific area that is prone to issues? Also, you said you had a similar issue with your Skoda Octavia, do you mean the power seats?

Yes, the symptoms with my Octavia were identical, the power seats issue. Check under the seat; the wiring loom is usually clipped to the frame. Give the connectors a wiggle. If that doesn't work, honestly, it might be worth getting it checked. Could be the seat switch itself, the seat wiring or something deeper. In my case, there was nothing visibly wrong, but the workshop identified a corroded wire within the seat harness. It was a real pain to diagnose.

Thank you for the information. It proved helpful. The workshop determined that the battery was indeed the primary culprit, causing a stored error and preventing seat adjustment. The battery was replaced and the error memory cleared. Total cost came to 290€.
