Yeah, a standard OBD2 reader probably won't cut it for this. You need a VAG-specific tool to access the car configuration settings and check the transport mode status. It's a dealer-level or good independent shop kind of thing. Honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked by a professional. If it is transport mode, resetting it should be a quick and cheap fix.

The immobilizer light is flashing. What kind of diagnostic check are you referring to? I have access to some basic OBD2 readers, but would that be sufficient, or is a more specialized tool needed for this 'transport mode' issue?

Huge thanks for the info! I took it to a trusted shop, they ran a diagnostic check and sure enough, transport mode was active. They reset the vehicle setting, and everything is working perfectly now. Immobilizer is deactivated, and the navigation is back online. No charge! Appreciate the help!

Sounds like transport mode alright. I had something similar happen with my Roomster. Is the immobilizer light flashing? If so, it's almost certainly a vehicle setting issue. Have you tried a diagnostic check to confirm?
