The light is constantly on. Where is the brake switch located? Can I test it without special tools? I'm good with tools, but electrics are mysterious to me.

A solid light usually indicates a more serious problem than a flickering one. While a faulty brake switch could be the cause, the symptoms and error codes suggest the electric motor in the caliper is the likely culprit. Considering the safety implications with brake control, and your unfamiliarity with electrics, I'd recommend having it checked by a qualified mechanic. Peace of mind is valuable in this situation.

Right then, after some investigation and a discussion with my local garage, it appears the electric motor in the brake caliper has failed. The repair will be around 505€, which is costly, but at least it's being resolved. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

That sounds unpleasant. Electronic parking brakes can be complex. Is the warning light always on, or does it flicker? Have you checked the brake switch? Sometimes a bad switch can disrupt the system, like a faulty light switch affecting your house wiring.
