Skoda Roomster engine stalling at idle

I am experiencing a rather persistent issue with my 2014 Skoda Roomster featuring a gasoline engine. The vehicle has accumulated 197850 km. The check engine light illuminates intermittently, and diagnostic scans reveal errors associated with idle air control. Most disturbingly, the engine stalls at idle. Could a contaminated intake manifold plausibly be the root cause?

Engine stalling on a Skoda Roomster? Sounds familiar. Do you have error codes related to the idle speed?

Indeed I do! The error memory mentions idle speed regulation issues. Did cleaning the throttle body solve it completely for you?

That sounds very much like what I experienced. I tried cleaning the throttle body myself, which helped temporarily, but the problem returned. Eventually, I had to take it to a workshop. They confirmed a heavily contaminated intake. Is it worth the hassle trying to fix it yourself, or would you rather just have a professional take care of it?

It was indeed a heavily contaminated intake causing the idle air control valve to malfunction. I had it professionally cleaned and the valve replaced. Cost me 425€. It runs smoothly now. Thanks for the help!
