Skoda Roomster Fuel Mixture Issue

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2012 Skoda Roomster with a gasoline engine. It has 116731 km on the clock. The check engine light illuminates intermittently, and the engine occasionally stalls at idle. I've scanned the error memory, and it indicates an 'incorrect fuel composition'. Could a defective cable or plug connection really be the cause? Has anyone encountered something similar? Any thoughts on what might be causing this wrong fuel mixture?

That sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Roomster, although I can't recall the exact error code. Was the engine management light illuminated? I was also experiencing rough idling. Have you checked the fuel quality? Perhaps some bad fuel contaminated the combustion chamber? What does the error memory say?

Yes, the engine management light is on. The engine stalls sometimes at idle, which is quite annoying. The error memory says something about 'incorrect fuel composition'. You mentioned fuel quality – did you experience that too, and how did you resolve it? Was it just a matter of running the tank dry, or did you have to do something more drastic with the fuel system?

Okay, 'incorrect fuel composition' definitely rings a bell. In my case, after some back and forth, it turned out to be a faulty connection somewhere in the fuel system. I'm no expert, but I think it was impacting the fuel mixture. Did you consider going to a workshop? They should be able to diagnose it properly. Trying to fix such a thing yourself can be tricky, and could lead to more problems down the road.

Took the Roomster to the workshop as suggested. They found a defective plug connection as the likely cause for the wrong fuel mixture and the error code. The bill came to 95€. Thanks again for your help!
