Fuses are fine. Sound quality for media playback is unaffected, it's purely the microphone audio input during calls that's dead. Does this match your experience?

Yes, that mirrors my experience exactly. Media playback was perfect, but the microphone was completely dead during calls. It's likely the infotainment unit. I'd recommend a workshop visit for diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the confirmation. It's almost certainly the infotainment system then. The workshop confirmed the same, and a new unit has been ordered. The total cost will be 815€. At least I'll have working hands-free again.

I had a similar Bluetooth issue in my Skoda Octavia. Check the fuse for the infotainment system first. It's a simple thing but worth a shot. Is the sound quality bad in general, or just during calls? By the way, Bluetooth is just a type of wireless connection using radio waves over short distances.
