Skoda Roomster knocking combustion issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Skoda Roomster with a gasoline engine is experiencing knocking combustion, characterized by reduced engine power, jerking during acceleration, and smoke, with an error stored in the memory. The issue may be caused by combustion chamber deposits or pre-ignition. A suggested solution is to have a mechanic clean the combustion chamber and use a fuel additive, which resolved the problem in this case.

Pre-ignition, huh? Interesting. What did you do to fix it? Did you get any error codes related to the knock sensor or ignition timing?

Yeah, that's what it was. I didn't mess with it myself. Took it straight to the workshop. They sorted it out. Best not to risk damaging the engine further, right?

Thanks for sharing your experience. I ended up taking it to a mechanic. They found significant deposits in the combustion chamber. After cleaning and a fuel additive, it's running much better. Total cost 425€.

Reduced engine power and jerking? Sounds familiar! Did you check your fuel octane? I had a similar problem with my Roomster a while back. Could it be pre-ignition?
