Skoda Roomster Oil Level Sensor Issue

I am experiencing an issue with my 2007 Skoda Roomster, diesel engine. An error message appears in the speedometer related to the oil level sensor signal. Additionally, an oil pressure warning lamp sometimes illuminates. The error memory also stores this fault. Could a defective cable or plug connection be responsible?

I had a similar issue with my Renault Megane. The oil level warning light would come on intermittently. Have you checked the wiring and the plug connection to the sensor? Sometimes, a loose or corroded connection can cause a false reading.

When you mention checking the wiring, are there specific areas that are more prone to failure? Is there a way to test the sensor itself without specialized equipment?

Yes, focus on the connector first. It can become corroded, like a rusty pipe. As for testing the sensor, it's best left to a workshop; they have the tools to properly diagnose it. A visual inspection of the wiring might reveal the problem, but you may need a professional to confirm the sensor's functionality.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a faulty cable connection to the oil level sensor. The repair cost was 95€. The error message is gone.
