When you mention checking the wiring, are there specific areas that are more prone to failure? Is there a way to test the sensor itself without specialized equipment?

Yes, focus on the connector first. It can become corroded, like a rusty pipe. As for testing the sensor, it's best left to a workshop; they have the tools to properly diagnose it. A visual inspection of the wiring might reveal the problem, but you may need a professional to confirm the sensor's functionality.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a faulty cable connection to the oil level sensor. The repair cost was 95€. The error message is gone.

I had a similar issue with my Renault Megane. The oil level warning light would come on intermittently. Have you checked the wiring and the plug connection to the sensor? Sometimes, a loose or corroded connection can cause a false reading.
