Skoda Roomster Overheating Problem

I've got a problem with my Skoda Roomster from 2008. It's a gasoline engine and has about 158447 km on the clock. Recently, the engine started overheating. I suspect it might be the electric fan. Any ideas on where to start looking?

Overheating on a Roomster is never good. When was the last time you checked your engine cooling system? First thing I would check would be the radiator fan itself. Is the electric motor running when the engine gets hot? Also, have you inspected the fan clutch? A defective fan clutch can also cause overheating issues. Finally, have you checked the cable and plug connection to the fan itself? If that is defective, the fan will not run.

Thanks for the info! I visually checked the radiator fan, and it seems okay, but how can I tell if the electric motor is actually running properly, and how do I inspect the fan clutch? Is there a specific way to test them?

Okay, if you're not sure about testing the electric motor or fan clutch yourself, it might be best to take it to a workshop. Given the symptoms and your suspicion of the electric fan, it is likely a defective cable or plug connection of the component. That sounds like it could be the problem. A mechanic can diagnose that quickly.

Just letting you know it was a faulty cable connection to the electric fan. The workshop charged me 95€ to fix it. Thanks for your help.
