Skoda Roomster Wiper Problem

My 2008 Skoda Roomster diesel, with 182035 km on the clock, has developed a wiper problem. The windshield wipers are not functioning. VCDS shows a stored error, which points towards a defective cable or plug connection related to the wiper switch circuit. I suspect it's either the wiper switch itself or a wiring issue within the steering column area, possibly affecting the turn signal stalk too. Before I start tearing things apart, has anyone experienced similar wiper blade malfunctions? The estimated repair cost is 95€ according to the error memory.

I had a similar issue with my Roomster. Have you checked the wiring harness near the steering column? It's a common point of failure for the windshield wipers.

Do you recall specifically which connector or cable within the steering column area was problematic? I'd like to examine it closely before throwing parts at it.

Unfortunately, I do not recall the exact connector. However, if the error logs indicate a defective connection, it is highly probable that it is a similar issue. I recommend consulting a workshop to properly diagnose the issue.

It was indeed a faulty connection, as suspected. The repair set me back 95€, just as initially diagnosed. Thanks for the assistance.
