Skoda Scala Air Conditioning Problem

My 2019 Skoda Scala, gasoline engine, with 182117 km, has a weird problem. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer and an error stored related to the heat exchanger temperature sensor. The air conditioning won't switch on. Could this be a defective air conditioning control unit?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Skoda Scala experienced an air conditioning issue, with an error message related to the heat exchanger temperature sensor. The air conditioning system wouldn't activate, possibly due to a defective sensor. The problem was resolved by replacing the faulty temperature sensor, which was preventing the system from functioning properly.

Sounds like a sensor issue in your HVAC system, maybe related to engine cooling. Any coolant leak signs? The AC not working is a symptom. Have you checked the coolant level?

No visible coolant leak. Coolant level is fine. Could the sensor really stop the whole AC system?

No leak is good. Yes, a faulty temperature sensor on the heat exchanger can prevent the AC from engaging. The system needs accurate temperature readings. If the sensor is sending incorrect data, the system will shut down as a precaution. I'd take it to a workshop to diagnose the sensor and wiring.

Just letting you know, the issue is resolved. It was the temperature sensor on the heat exchanger, like you thought. Cost 980€ to fix. Thanks for the help.
