A 2023 Skoda Scala owner reported a problem with the audio system, where the sound system was completely non-functional, and the display was dark. The issue was identified as a defective head unit, confirmed by a workshop. The suggested solution was to replace the head unit to restore functionality.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the fuses, they seem fine. And no, I haven't installed anything myself, so I don't think it's faulty wiring. When you say 'similar issue', did your head unit completely die, or was it just the car speakers?

Yeah, mine completely died too. I tried everything, but in the end, I had to take it to the workshop. They said the display unit was defective and needed replacing. It's a pain, but at least it's fixable. I'd suggest taking it to a professional to get it checked out properly.

I took the Scala to the workshop. They confirmed it's a defective head unit. The repair will be around 725€. A bit steep, but at least the sound system should be working again. Thanks for your help!

I have a Scala too! I had a similar issue with my car speakers cutting out and some weird static noise. Did you check the fuses? Sometimes it's just a simple fix like that. Also, have you noticed any faulty wiring when you installed something?
