Skoda Scala check engine light
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a check engine light issue on a 2020 Skoda Scala, suspected to be caused by an air valve problem. The engine seems to stall when idling, suggesting a possible defective hose connection affecting manifold pressure. A suggestion was made to check for vacuum leaks around the air intake, which can cause similar symptoms. The issue was resolved by identifying and fixing the hose connection at a workshop.

Interesting analogy! Where exactly should I be looking for these vacuum leaks? Is there a specific area that's more prone to them on the Scala's air intake system?

Yep, that's almost exactly what happened to me. I spent ages looking at sensors and stuff before I realized it was a simple cracked hose. If you're not comfortable poking around yourself, I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. It's usually a quick fix if that's the problem. They'll probably do a smoke test to find the leak.

I got this resolved. It was indeed the hose connection. The workshop identified the issue quickly, and the total cost was 175€ Thanks for your help!

That sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Scala, though it took me a while to figure out. Did you check for vacuum leaks around the air intake? Those can cause all sorts of weird manifold pressure readings and idle problems. It's like trying to suck lemonade through a straw with a tiny hole in it.
