Interesting point about the fuse! I haven't checked that yet; it's definitely worth a look. It's only the driver's seat that's acting up. So, in your case with the Volvo, was it actually the fuse, or did you have to replace the heating element eventually?

My issue with the Volvo was a bit more complex. The fuse was fine. It turned out to be a break in the heating element itself, right inside the seat cushion! I tried troubleshooting it myself, but eventually had to take it to a workshop. I'd recommend getting it checked out professionally. It's probably the heating element, particularly since you're seeing an error code. They can test it properly and also check that thermal sensor you mentioned.

Took my Skoda Scala to the shop. The seat heating mat was defective. A new one was installed, along with a new seat cushion. The thermal sensor was causing the temperature control to go haywire. Total cost landed around 390€. At least my backside will be toasty warm this winter. Thanks for the input; it steered me in the right direction!

I feel your pain! I had something similar happen with my old Volvo. Did you check the fuse for the seat heater? That was the first thing the mechanic asked me. Does it happen on both seats or just the driver's side? On my Volvo it was like the electricity was playing hide and seek. One minute warm, the next, nothing!
