Skoda Scala Coolant Level Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Skoda Scala owner reported a check engine light issue, with diagnostics indicating a low coolant error and a potential defective cable or plug connection. Despite the coolant reservoir appearing slightly low, no visible leaks were found. A suggestion was made to inspect for leaks, check the cooling fan, and consider air pockets as possible causes. Ultimately, a defective plug connection was identified and replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! How did you check for air pockets? If the cooling fan wasn't working, would that always trigger the check engine light?

Regarding the air pockets, I didn't check myself – the garage did. A faulty cooling fan can trigger the check engine light. If the engine overheats, that'll throw an error. With the error code pointing to a cable, I'd suggest getting it checked professionally. Could save you trouble.

Just letting you know, you were right! The workshop found a defective plug connection. Replacement fixed the error. Cost 95€. Thanks for the help!

Low coolant can be a pain. I had something similar with my Scala. First, check around the coolant reservoir and the water pump for any signs of a coolant leak. Is your cooling fan working correctly? Sometimes air pockets can cause issues.
