Skoda Scala Diesel Engine Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Skoda Scala with a diesel engine is experiencing issues such as a check engine light, reduced engine power, poor response, a whistling noise, loud hissing during acceleration, engine stalling at idle, and increased fuel consumption. The error codes suggest a boost pressure actuator fault, possibly due to a defective electrical bypass valve. The recommended solution is to inspect the boost pressure sensor and check for leaks in the turbocharger system, but ultimately, the issue was resolved by replacing the electrical bypass valve.

The whistling is mostly when accelerating. How did you diagnose the boost pressure sensor on your Megane? And is there a way to check for leaks in the turbocharger system without specialized equipment?

I used an OBD scanner to monitor the boost pressure readings in real time on my Megane. It was erratic. As for the leaks, you can visually inspect the hoses and intercooler for cracks or loose connections. However, the actuator fault combined with your symptoms strongly suggests a problem with the turbo wastegate or its control system. Given the potential complexity, I'd advise taking it to a workshop for proper diagnosis. Replacing the valve isn't too expensive.

Just wanted to let you know I got it sorted. It was indeed the electrical bypass valve. Repair cost me 250€. Thanks for the insight!

I had a similar issue with my Renault Megane, also a diesel. Check engine light, power loss, the whole shebang. Did you check the boost pressure sensor? A faulty reading there can cause the ECU to limit boost, resulting in those symptoms. A hissing sound often indicates a leak in the turbocharger system. Is the whistling noise constant or only under load?
