Skoda Scala Diesel Fault Memory Lock Active Error
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Scala diesel displayed a 'fault memory lock active' error without obvious symptoms. The issue was suspected to be caused by undervoltage, which can trigger the control unit to lock the fault memory as a failsafe. A visit to a shop confirmed the undervoltage, and the fault codes were cleared, resolving the problem.

Battery seems okay. But how would voltage fluctuations cause a 'fault memory lock active' error? Seems extreme.

The control unit probably detected the undervoltage and, as a failsafe, locked the fault memory to prevent corruption. These systems are complex. I bet they will perform auto repair and remove the fault codes. I'd recommend a shop visit; you don't want to risk damaging the ECU.

You were right. Shop visit confirmed undervoltage. Fault codes are now cleared. Cost me 240€ but it's resolved.

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar problem with my Scala, random errors stored in the memory. Check the battery. These systems are sensitive to voltage fluctuations. Modern diagnostics rely on stable power.
