Skoda Scala door lock problem

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't seen any car alarm issues. Can you explain the 'door latch mechanism' and its relation to the door sensor? Can I inspect this myself?

The door latch physically secures the door. A door sensor, or switch, is often integrated within it, signaling the door's open or closed state to the car's computer. This signal is key for the central locking system and alarm. You could check the wiring harness and plug connections, but accessing the latch means taking apart the door panel. Given what you've said, and the risk of damaging trim or the sensor, I'd suggest a workshop. It sounds like the door sensor is faulty, and it might be cheaper in the long run.

The workshop confirmed a defective door contact signal traced to a faulty cable or plug connection. The repair set me back 95€.

I had a similar issue with my Scala. The symptoms point to a problem with the door switch, specifically the sensor that detects the door's open or closed state. This is often part of the door latch. Have you had any random car alarm activations?
