I appreciate the suggestion. I did a quick visual inspection, but did not see anything obvious. What kind of damage or corrosion should I specifically look for on the brake control module?

In my case, there was some minor water ingress, leading to corrosion on the connector pins. However, if you've already checked that, it's quite likely the calliper motor itself. Given the error code and mileage, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for proper brake diagnostics. Replacing the calliper yourself can be tricky and might affect vehicle safety.

I had a similar electronic brake problem with my old Peugeot some time ago. The symptoms were identical: parking brake malfunction, error light, and a stored error code. Did you check the brake control module for any obvious signs of damage or corrosion before suspecting the calliper?
