Skoda Scala Engine Knocking

My 2023 Skoda Scala with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. It has some kind of knocking combustion happening. Losing power, jerks when I accelerate, and blows smoke sometimes. Plus, there's an error code stored. Thinking it might be deposits in the combustion chamber. Has anyone else run into this with these engines? What about ignition timing or engine tuning?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Skoda Scala with a gasoline engine is experiencing knocking combustion, leading to power loss, jerking during acceleration, and occasional smoke. The issue might be due to deposits in the combustion chamber, ignition timing, or engine tuning. A similar problem was resolved by addressing carbon buildup, which was cleaned by a workshop, restoring smooth engine performance.

Reduced engine power and jerking? Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Scala. Was it engine knock? I'm no expert but did you check the knock sensor?

Engine knock, eh? How did you figure out it was the knock sensor? What exactly was happening with your car?

Yep, classic engine knock. That's what I thought too. Couldn't figure it out myself, so I took it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly. Maybe just take it in? Why waste time troubleshooting, right?

Cheers for the advice. Turns out it was carbon buildup, just like you said. Had the workshop clean it out; cost me 425€, but she's running smooth again.
