Skoda Scala Engine Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Skoda Scala with high mileage is experiencing engine problems, including a check engine light, rough running, and a strong exhaust smell. The issue is suspected to be related to the exhaust treatment system. A defective oxygen sensor, specifically the Lambda sensor, was identified as the cause. Replacing the sensor resolved the problem, restoring smooth engine operation.

Yep, the check engine light is on. Could a blocked EGR valve or faulty NOx sensors cause similar symptoms?

Possible, but with the exhaust leak and smell, a defective oxygen sensor is the most probable culprit. Get it checked; running it like that could damage the catalytic converter. Workshop visit is recommended.

Turns out it was the Lambda sensor as expected. New one fitted and I'm 375€ lighter. Still, runs smooth now!

That mileage on a 2022 Scala is impressive! Strong exhaust smell and rough running definitely point towards a problem in the exhaust treatment system. Has the engine management light illuminated?
