Skoda Scala Engine Stalling and Check Engine Light
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Scala owner experienced engine stalling and a persistent check engine light, suspecting a fuel tank ventilation system leak. The issue was linked to a defective activated charcoal filter, a common problem in emission control systems. A workshop confirmed the fault through a leak detection test and replaced the charcoal filter, resolving the issue and improving the vehicle's performance.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

It happens randomly, not only after refueling. The engine stalls mostly when idling, like at a red light. How did you solve your problem? Was it really the fuel tank ventilation?

Yes, it was the fuel tank ventilation. The purge valve was faulty, which caused a leak. The workshop confirmed it with a leak detection test. They told me it's a common problem. I suggest you go to a workshop to get it checked; they will probably tell you the same thing.

Wow, thanks a lot for the help! It was exactly as you said, the charcoal filter was defective. I had it replaced at the workshop, and they also did a leak detection test. The final bill was 275€, but at least the check engine light is off, and it seems to be running smoothly. Hopefully, my fuel efficiency will improve now!

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Scala. The check engine light was driving me crazy! I think it might be related to the fuel tank ventilation system. Does it happen often, or only after refueling?
