Thanks for the quick reply. You mentioned a broken wire in the door harness. Was your error message also specifically pointing to the mirror or was it more generic like 'electrical fault'? I'm trying to figure out if my diagnosis of a broken wire or plug is on the right track before I start tearing things apart.

The error message was fairly specific, referencing the mirror heating circuit. Given that you have a similar error and suspect wiring, it's quite possible. However, if you're not comfortable with electrical work, it might be best to let a professional handle it. Modern cars can be quite sensitive to electrical faults, and incorrect repairs can sometimes cause further issues. 95€ seems reasonable to me.

Took it to the workshop, and they confirmed faulty wiring in the rearview mirror was the cause. The 95€ repair cost was accurate. Mirror heating works perfectly now. Thanks for sharing your experience, it helped me to get it resolved faster.

I have a Skoda Scala as well, although I am unsure about the production year. I experienced something similar last winter. The mirror heating on my driver's side failed, and a diagnostic scan revealed an electrical fault. I checked the fuses first, but that wasn't the issue. I ended up inspecting the wiring harness where it enters the door, and I found a partially broken wire. These wires are constantly flexed every time you open and close the door. Perhaps it's worth investigating this area on your vehicle, before considering mirror replacement.
