Skoda Scala System Readiness Issue

I am writing to inquire about an issue I am experiencing with my 2022 Skoda Scala, gasoline engine, which currently has 122556 km. I am receiving an error message in the speedometer indicating an incomplete system readiness check. There is also an error stored in the error memory. I suspect this may be related to a recent diagnostic scan performed via OBD2. I am concerned about the upcoming emissions test. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I encountered a similar situation with my Skoda Scala after diagnostic work on the exhaust system. The OBD readiness monitors were not set, preventing me from passing the emissions test. This can occur when the vehicle's computer has been reset or the error memory cleared. Several drive cycles might be needed for all the monitors to complete. Has the vehicle been driven much since the diagnostic work?

Thank you for your prompt reply. Yes, the vehicle was recently read out via OBD2 diagnostics. I understand the concept of a drive cycle, but could you elaborate on what that specifically entails for the Skoda Scala? Are there specific driving conditions I need to meet to ensure the system readiness check completes successfully?

It sounds like the OBD readiness is the root cause. Unfortunately, there isn't a single, universally prescribed drive cycle for the Skoda Scala. However, generally, it involves a combination of city and highway driving at various speeds, ensuring the engine reaches operating temperature. I would advise consulting with a qualified technician for the precise drive cycle that applies to your specific engine and model year. The computer reset may have impacted the exhaust system related checks. It might be best to bring it to a workshop.

I wanted to share that after consulting a technician, the OBD readiness flags were reset during the diagnostic scan, as suspected. After performing the recommended drive cycle, the system completed its checks and the error message disappeared. No repair costs were incurred. Thank you for your insight and assistance!
