Skoda Scala weak battery and flickering lights

Okay, so battery voltage, you say? What readings were you getting on your Skoda Scala before you figured out it was the battery sensor? And did you notice any specific driving conditions that made the symptoms worse? I'm trying to rule out other possibilities before I throw money at a new sensor.

Yeah, the battery voltage was all over the place – lower than normal when off, and not charging properly when the engine was running. It was indeed the battery sensor causing the issue, confirmed by diagnostics at the garage. With those kilometers on your Scala, and those symptoms, I'd lean towards a defective sensor. Honestly, with electrical gremlins, it's often best to take it to a workshop with proper diagnostic tools. They can pinpoint it for sure.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected! I took it to a local shop, they ran some battery testing and confirmed the battery sensor was indeed faulty. Replaced it, and everything's back to normal! Cost me 315€, a bit steep but worth it for the peace of mind. I appreciate the advice!

A weak battery and flickering lights on a Scala, eh? Sounds awfully familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Scala – though I haven't racked up quite as many kilometers as you, sitting pretty at 90000 km. Have you checked the battery voltage with a multimeter when the engine is off and while it's running? Just curious if it aligns with what I experienced.
