Hey, you're hitting my sore spot! Had a similar drama with my Superb Diesel, 2011 model. Diesel fumes and the constant glow of the indicator light... a nightmare! I think in my case the problem wasn't just the DPF, but actually the glow plugs. Do you remember what you paid to have the problem fixed? And did you have any other problems out of the blue after that? Thanks for your reply!

Hey, of course, I still remember my mammoth workshop task! How could I forget the €350 for the defective glow plug wiring harness/plug? Fortunately, since the visit to the mechanic, the fault with the pre-glow relay or the glow plugs is history. After the repair, nothing freaky has happened to me. Take it easy - with the right people working on your car, you'll get it sorted!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm probably about to pay a visit to the mechanic. Of course, I hope that the costs won't be too high. But your words are reassuring. I will then report back on how it went. Thanks again!

Hey, I had something similar with my 2014 Skoda Octavia Diesel. My car was also always smoking and the indicator light was constantly on, plus there were problems with starting. At the garage, it turned out that there was a serious problem with my diesel particulate filter. A lot of maintenance work was needed to fix it. You really need to go to a garage to get it checked out. It's nothing to joke about. There may be defects in the diesel particulate filter, just like mine. You really should have it checked.
