Skoda Superb ABS and Traction Control Problems

I'm pulling my hair out over here! My 2014 Skoda Superb, diesel engine, with 85574 km on the clock is giving me grief. The ABS light is on, traction control is going nuts, and I'm pretty sure the ABS system itself is completely shot. I've scanned the car, and it's showing a speed signal fault. Could this be the ABS control unit going bad? Has anyone else had this happen? Is there any hope, or am I looking at a massive repair bill?

I may be able to assist you. I drive a Skoda Superb, and I experienced a similar issue not too long ago. The ABS light illuminated, and I detected traction control problems. Did you notice any issues with the speedometer or odometer readings? The fault may reside within the ABS control unit, which governs the speed signal input. It is imperative to note that a defective unit may precipitate the aforementioned symptoms.

Speedometer and odometer issues too, you say? Hmm... that's interesting because I did notice some weird readings on the odometer and the speedometer needle was jumping around a bit before the ABS completely failed. Was that exactly what happened to you?

Confirmed. Identical symptoms to mine. Erratic speedometer, odometer behaving strangely, ABS and traction control lights. If the diagnostic check indicates a speed signal fault and you're observing these symptoms, I would venture to suggest it is probably the ABS control unit. I recommend a comprehensive diagnostic assessment at an authorized repair shop. It is quite probable that replacement of the unit will be necessary.

Alright, I took it to the workshop. Turns out you were spot on! The ABS control unit was indeed the culprit. They replaced it, and the speed signal fault is gone! No more ABS light, traction control is back, and the odometer and speedometer are working perfectly again. Cost me about 1000€, which stings, but at least it's fixed. Thanks a lot for your help!
