Skoda Superb Anti Theft Alarm Problem

My 2021 Skoda Superb with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. Mileage is at 90420 km. The anti-theft alarm system is throwing an error, and the alarm is non-functional. VCDS scan shows some errors stored in the error memory related to the alarm system. I have a hunch it might be that the alarm system is coded to activate optical locking indicators. Anyone else run into this?

Sounds like a similar thing happened with my BMW a while back. Kept getting false alarms. Did you check for any battery issues? A weak battery can sometimes cause weird electrical gremlins with the alarm system.

Interesting, battery issue you say? Could you elaborate a little? Did your BMW throw any specific codes related to low voltage or the alarm control?

Yeah, I didn't see any low voltage codes, but there was something about a 'plausibility error' with the alarm control. The dealer ended up saying the alarm system was oversensitive and suggested a software adjustment. But I think you are on the right track. Check the coding. If that doesn’t work, the workshop should be able to sort it out.

Took the Superb in, and the alarm system was coded to optical locking, which was the problem. Recoding solved it, 45€ well spent. Thanks for the help!
