Skoda Superb brake pedal feedback

I own a 2001 Skoda Superb with a gasoline engine. Recently, I've noticed unusual feedback from the brake pedal. It almost feels spongy. I suspect worn brakes, but the behavior is odd. Could a drop in voltage affect the braking?

Strange brake pedal feedback can be tricky. I drive a Skoda Superb too. I faced a similar issue a while back. Have you checked the brake rotors for any visible damage? Also, when was the last time you replaced brake shoes?

Thanks for the quick reply. I inspected the brake rotors but didn't see anything obvious. What exactly was the cause of your brake issue? Did you also experience a soft pedal?

Indeed it was a soft pedal! The cause was undervoltage which impacted the brake system negatively. I would recommend checking the electrical system or visiting a workshop.

I appreciate the insight. The workshop confirmed undervoltage was affecting the brake system. New metal brakes and a brake fluid flush later, along with addressing the electrical issue, and the car is stopping smoothly for 240€.
