Skoda Superb check engine light issue
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a check engine light issue on a 2008 Skoda Superb with a gasoline engine. The initial suspicion was an air valve problem, but it was suggested that a vacuum leak might be the cause. Upon inspection, a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve was identified as the problem. Replacing the hose and resetting the check engine light resolved the issue.

Vacuum hoses, huh? Where exactly should I be looking? Is it something I can easily spot myself, or is it buried deep in the engine?

Yep, that was it for me. The hose connection from the pump to the valve was the culprit. Honestly, I'd recommend getting a mechanic to check it out. It can be tricky to reach some of the hoses, and you don't want to mess with manifold pressure without knowing what you're doing.

You were completely right! Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve. New hose and a quick reset of the check engine light and all is good. Cost me 175€ but at least it's fixed. Thanks a million for your help!

Sounds like a vacuum leak. I had a similar issue on my Superb. Check all your vacuum hoses, especially those related to the air supply and manifold pressure. A small crack can cause the check engine light to come on.
