Skoda Superb Cold Start Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Skoda Superb with a gasoline engine and 59,520 km mileage is experiencing hard starting issues and rough idling, particularly in cold conditions. The problem is suspected to be related to fuel injection, as the engine seems to receive fuel slowly during cold starts. A similar issue was resolved by checking the fuel injectors, revealing a leaking injector that was not atomizing fuel properly. After professional inspection, the faulty injector was replaced, resolving the issue.

Interesting, how did you pinpoint it to the fuel injectors? Was it obvious, or did you have to do some serious digging?

Well, it wasn't immediately obvious. The symptoms were similar to yours – hard starting and rough idle. Eventually, I noticed a slight smell of unburnt fuel. A mechanic friend suggested checking the injectors. Turns out injector number one was leaking and not atomizing the fuel properly. Think of it like trying to spray paint with a clogged nozzle, you get uneven splatters. It might be worth getting them checked professionally to be sure. Could save you a lot of guesswork.

Took it to the workshop, you were spot on! Injector number one was faulty. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted but she's running like a dream now. Thanks for the advice!

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue, I had something similar with my Superb. Hard starting, rough idle when cold. Have you checked your fuel injectors? That was the culprit for me.
