Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your input on the potential air intake issue. I did a visual inspection, but I am not very familiar with the intricacies of modern engines. Could you elaborate on what specifically to look for in the air intake to rule that out before I consider replacing the throttle valve? What do you mean by affecting the 'air flow'?

By 'air flow,' I mean the volume of air entering the engine. Restrictions impact combustion. Since you've already checked visually, and the diagnostics point to the throttle valve, it does sound like that's the culprit. Given your description, I'd say it's best to get it checked professionally. A defective throttle valve can certainly cause those symptoms, and continuing to drive with it might cause further damage. Replacement is often the only solution in such cases.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Your advice was very helpful. I took my Skoda Superb to a reputable workshop, and they confirmed the throttle valve was indeed defective, likely due to the accelerator pedal module or electronics inside. The replacement cost, including labor, came to 265€. Now the engine is running smoothly again. Thanks again!

Interesting issue. I once experienced something similar with my Skoda Superb, though I can't recall the exact year of manufacture. Reduced engine power and the check engine light were definitely present. Have you checked the air intake system for any obstructions that might be affecting the air flow? That can sometimes mimic throttle valve problems and negatively impact fuel efficiency and engine idling.
