Skoda Superb Diesel Glow Plug Problem

My 2005 Skoda Superb diesel, with 240901 km, has an issue. The preheating lamp stays on after starting, and there's a glow plug error stored. Does this mean the glow plugs are bad, causing the check engine light and poor cold starts?

The preheating lamp behavior and stored error code strongly suggest a defective glow plug. Have you checked the power supply?

I haven't checked the power supply yet. If it's fine, can I assume the glow plugs are the issue? Or could something else cause this?

Yes, suspect the glow plugs. Wiring is possible, but the plugs are more likely. Given the age and mileage, replacement is probably best. See a technician for diagnosis and repair.

Following a workshop diagnostic, the glow plugs were identified as the problem. Replacement cost 440€. The check engine light is now off, and the cold start issue is resolved.
