Skoda Superb Exhaust Flap Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Skoda Superb with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the exhaust flaps, leading to louder exhaust noise and noisy engine running after a cold start. The problem is suspected to be a defective exhaust flap, possibly due to a malfunctioning flap motor or damage to nearby exhaust components. The suggested solution is to replace the exhaust flaps, which resolved the issue by eliminating the error code and restoring normal exhaust noise and engine performance.

Interesting. When you had the issue with your BMW, what exactly did you replace? Just the flap motor, or the whole exhaust flap assembly including the exhaust components?

I think I only replaced the complete exhaust flaps. If I remember correctly a defective flap motor could be the problem, but I think the mechanic recommended to replace the whole part due to corrosion on the exhaust components. If you have the same symptoms and the error code refers to the flaps, you should go to the workshop.

Appreciate the input. Turns out you were spot on. Replaced both exhaust flaps, which cost me around 190€. Now the error's gone, the exhaust noise is back to normal, and no more noisy engine running after a cold start.

Louder exhaust and error codes? Sounds familiar. Had similar issues with my old BMW, though it was a diesel. Have you checked the flap motor itself? Is it getting power?
