Skoda Superb Exhaust Flap Issue

I am experiencing difficulties with the exhaust flaps on my 2012 Skoda Superb, gasoline engine. An error is stored, the exhaust noise is distinctly louder than usual, and the engine exhibits noisy running after a cold start. My suspicion falls upon a defective exhaust flap. Has anyone had experience with engine performance issues due to malfunctioning exhaust flaps or damage to nearby exhaust components? Is this a common issue with the flap motor?

Louder exhaust and error codes? Sounds familiar. Had similar issues with my old BMW, though it was a diesel. Have you checked the flap motor itself? Is it getting power?

Interesting. When you had the issue with your BMW, what exactly did you replace? Just the flap motor, or the whole exhaust flap assembly including the exhaust components?

I think I only replaced the complete exhaust flaps. If I remember correctly a defective flap motor could be the problem, but I think the mechanic recommended to replace the whole part due to corrosion on the exhaust components. If you have the same symptoms and the error code refers to the flaps, you should go to the workshop.

Appreciate the input. Turns out you were spot on. Replaced both exhaust flaps, which cost me around 190€. Now the error's gone, the exhaust noise is back to normal, and no more noisy engine running after a cold start.
