Skoda Superb Gearbox Issues

I'm starting to get seriously worried about my Skoda Superb. It's a 2021 hybrid. Recently, the automatic gearbox has been acting up. I can't shift with the paddle shifters anymore, and the gearbox slips sometimes and shifts really uncleanly. I'm also hearing some nasty grinding noises when it changes gears. The paddle shifters barely respond, and now the gearbox is stuck in emergency mode. I checked, and there's an error stored. Could it be a defective control unit? Someone mentioned it, and the repair cost could be around 1000€.

That sounds like a classic case of a failing transmission control module. The symptoms you describe – shifting problems, emergency mode, error codes – are pretty typical. Have you checked the automotive ECU for any fault codes specifically related to the transmission?

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the error memory, and it's showing a fault related to the transmission control unit. Is it likely that replacing the control module will solve all the problems, or could there be other underlying issues?

Yes, if the fault code points directly to the transmission control unit and you're experiencing those specific symptoms, it's highly probable that replacing the control module will resolve the issue. However, it's always wise to get a professional diagnosis at a workshop. They can confirm the diagnosis and ensure there aren't any other contributing factors before you commit to the repair. Transmission problems can be tricky, but it sounds like you've nailed the likely cause.

Okay, I understand! I'll take it to a workshop and have the transmission control module replaced. Thanks for your help!
