Skoda Superb GPS Issue

I am experiencing a recurrent problem with the car navigation system in my 2011 Skoda Superb with a gasoline engine. Current mileage is 229811 km. The error memory stores a fault related to the GPS antenna, resulting in no GPS reception. Based on preliminary diagnosis, a defective GPS antenna is the likely cause. Estimated repair cost is around 200€. Has anyone encountered a similar issue, and if so, were there any complications beyond a simple antenna replacement?

I encountered a somewhat similar issue with my previous Skoda Superb, although the symptoms were slightly different. The car navigation would intermittently lose satellite connection, displaying a 'GPS signal lost' error. In my case, the issue stemmed from a faulty GPS module, rather than the antenna itself. Have you inspected the GPS module, or just focused on the antenna? Also, can you confirm if the vehicle GPS completely fails, or only after a certain period of driving?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have focused primarily on the antenna, given the error message directly implicates it. Where is the GPS module typically located in the vehicle, and how would one go about inspecting it beyond a visual check for obvious damage?

In my Superb, the GPS module was integrated into the infotainment system behind the dashboard; access required some trim removal. Given the error message points to the antenna, it's still a good place to start. However, a faulty GPS module can mimic antenna problems. A proper diagnostic by a workshop with appropriate tools might be the most efficient route to confirm the diagnosis before spending money on parts. Car electronics can be tricky.

The GPS antenna was indeed the culprit. I replaced it, and the navigation system is now receiving a satellite connection. Repair cost was precisely 200€ Thank you for your input.
