Skoda Superb Hybrid electrical malfunctions

I am experiencing a rather perplexing issue with my 2022 Skoda Superb Hybrid. With 183241 km on the odometer, I've begun receiving an error message in the speedometer, and there is an error stored in the error memory. The engine starts weakly, suggesting a weak battery. Additionally, I notice general electrical malfunctions. My initial assessment suggests the auxiliary battery is not being adequately charged. I suspect a battery replacement is in order, but I'm concerned about the power management system and its potential role in this issue. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Skoda Superb Hybrid with 183,241 km exhibited electrical malfunctions, including weak engine starts and error messages, suggesting a weak auxiliary battery. The error memory indicated issues with the auxiliary battery circuit. The primary suspect was the auxiliary battery, though concerns about the power management system were also considered. After replacing the auxiliary battery, the issues were resolved, confirming the battery as the primary cause.

The symptoms you describe certainly point to an auxiliary battery issue. A weak battery can cause a significant voltage drop during engine start, triggering the error message and affecting other electrical systems. Is the error memory storing specific fault codes related to the auxiliary battery or power management?

Thank you for the reply. The error memory does indicate a problem with the auxiliary battery circuit. I'm curious about the power management aspect. Could a faulty power management module also contribute to this, or is it more likely solely the auxiliary battery itself?

Given the fault codes point directly to the auxiliary battery circuit and the symptoms align with a failing auxiliary battery (weak engine start, electrical malfunctions), it is highly probable that the battery is the primary issue. While a faulty power management module could theoretically contribute, it's less likely if the codes specifically implicate the battery. I would recommend a battery replacement first. If the problem persists, then further investigation into the power management system would be warranted. A workshop visit is advisable for proper diagnosis and battery replacement.

Thank you for your assistance. The workshop confirmed the auxiliary battery was indeed the culprit. After battery replacement, the error messages are gone, and the engine starts without issue. The total cost was 290€, as expected. It appears the power management system is now functioning correctly.
