Skoda Superb Hybrid rough starts and high fuel consumption

Alright, so I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2021 Skoda Superb hybrid is playing up something fierce. It's got about 209906 km on the clock. I've noticed my fuel consumption has gone through the roof, and it's starting poorly, like it's choking. I suspect something is wrong with the car throttle. Has anyone else had this? Could it be a defective accelerator pedal module?

I drive a Superb too, and had something similar happen. Higher fuel consumption and rough starts. Have you checked the air intake or tried throttle cleaning? Could be a dirty throttle valve affecting the engine idle.

Throttle cleaning? What's that involve? And what exactly is the throttle valve? Is it easy to get to? I'm not a total newbie, but I don't want to mess anything up.

Throttle cleaning involves cleaning the throttle valve, which controls how much air goes into the engine. If it gets gunked up, it messes with the air fuel mixture, hence the poor engine idle and fuel consumption. The accelerator pedal module could be the culprit too. Honestly, if you're not super confident, I'd take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly.

You're a lifesaver! I took it to a local mechanic, and it turns out the accelerator pedal module was faulty like you said. They replaced it, cost me about 205€ all in. It runs like a dream now. Fuel consumption is back to normal and it starts perfectly. Thanks again!
