Skoda Superb Hybrid System Readiness Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Skoda Superb Hybrid was experiencing a 'system readiness check incomplete' error after a routine OBD2 diagnostic readout. This issue is often caused by the car's onboard diagnostics needing time to recalibrate after such a check. The suggested solution was to perform a standardized drive cycle, which involves a mix of city and highway driving at varying speeds. Following this procedure resolved the issue, and the error message disappeared, allowing the vehicle to pass inspection without further intervention.

Could you elaborate on what constitutes a 'drive cycle'? Is there a specific pattern or duration of driving required to reset the system?

Yes, using an OBD2 reader can trigger that message. Think of it like temporarily disconnecting a device – it needs time to recalibrate. If the message persists after several drive cycles, a computer reset at a certified workshop might be necessary, but hopefully a good drive will sort it out.

Thank you for the insights. It seems the issue has resolved itself after performing a standardized drive cycle as suggested by other Skoda drivers. I followed the manufacturer's recommendations which included a mix of city and highway driving at varying speeds. After that, the system readiness check completed successfully, and the error message disappeared. The vehicle inspection also passed with no issues. So, in the end, it cost me 0€ to resolve.

The 'system readiness check incomplete' message often appears after an OBD2 diagnostic tool is used. It means the car's onboard diagnostics haven't finished running all their self-tests. Have you tried driving the car for a while? Sometimes, completing a 'drive cycle' will reset everything.
