Skoda Superb Hybrid Windshield Wipers Not Working

Alright, I'm officially stumped. My 2022 Skoda Superb hybrid is giving me grief with the windshield wipers. They've completely stopped working. The car has almost 200000 km on it. I've scanned for errors, and it's throwing a code that suggests a faulty cable or plug connection related to the wiper system. Could it be the wiper motor or the wiper switch? The rain sensor and cruise control are also on the steering column, so maybe those are part of the problem. Anyone had a similar issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Summary of the thread

The windshield wipers on a 2022 Skoda Superb hybrid stopped working, with an error code indicating a faulty cable or plug connection in the wiper system. Possible causes include issues with the wiper motor, wiper switch, or connections related to the rain sensor and cruise control on the steering column. After checking the fuses and considering the error code, it was determined that a bad connection was likely the problem. The issue was resolved at a workshop by fixing the faulty connection, restoring the wipers to working order.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia, though mine is an older model. The wipers went completely dead. Have you checked the fuses? That's the first thing I'd look at. Could be something simple before you start tearing into the steering column.

Thanks for the tip! I did check the fuses, all seem fine. I'm leaning towards a bad connection somewhere, especially since the error code points that way. Did your Octavia have a rain sensor or cruise control? I'm wondering if those systems could be somehow related, since they're all connected to the steering column and wiper switch.

Yeah, mine had the rain sensor too. It could be related, but honestly, tracing those connections can be a nightmare. Since you've already checked the fuses and have an error code pointing to a bad connection, I'd say your initial suspicion is probably right. If you're not super confident with electrical work, might be worth getting a workshop to take a look. 95€ is a fair price, as it is almost certainly located at the steering column.

Thanks a lot for the help! Finally got it sorted at the workshop. They confirmed it was a faulty connection as suspected. New connector and a bit of fiddling later, wipers are working perfectly again. 95€ well spent!
