Skoda Superb Overheating Issue

My 2004 Skoda Superb, gasoline engine, is exhibiting signs of overheating. The check engine light is illuminated, and I suspect a defective radiator fan. Could a defective speed sensor be the root cause, and has anyone encountered a comparable scenario?

Overheating Skoda Superb eh? Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Superb, though I don't remember the build year. Was the engine cooling fan running erratically, or not at all? Did you check the car radiator for any blockages?

Interesting. When you say 'similar', do you mean the check engine light was also triggered, and did you notice if only one fan blade was spinning, or was it completely dead? Did the fan motor seem to be the problem or could it be a sensor?

Yep, check engine light was on too. The whole cooling system seemed messed up. To be honest, I'm not mechanically minded enough to diagnose it myself. Took it to a workshop, and they sorted it. Probably best to do the same, unless you really know your stuff with the fan motor.

I appreciate the insight. It turned out to be the speed sensor impacting the fan operation. Repair cost was around 250€. Thanks again for your help.
